Inspiration
The Historial Vietnamese Poems Calendar of 2022 is developed conceptually to represent an aspect of Vietnamese culture through literature, more specifically poems of Vietnamese poets in the 19th and 20th centuries. The target audience of the calendar is Vietnamese-Americans and Vietnamese who resonate with the message and pride of the Vietnamese literature, but also for foreign audiences who want to learn more about the culture. To visually appeal to the target audience, the calendar design follows a light and minimal visual language that is modernly Western yet distinguishably Asian sensible— spiritual and elegant. This aspect is shown in the thick yet soft-looking of san serif header type and elegant and graceful serif body and title types.
